Recognizing
that people have different learning styles, goals, and time
constraints for their faith education, STEP at Notre Dame
has developed a variety of online theology offerings:
STEP offers online
certificate courses according to posted schedules. Most
courses are designed and developed by a professor from Notre
Dame’s Department of Theology and then delivered by
a STEP facilitator. Our courses cover subjects such as:
- Old and
New Testament studies
- History of Christianity
- Doctrine of Mary, Mother of God
- American
Christianity from the 1800's to present day
- Role of
women in Christianity
- Theology of the body
- Moral
theology
- Liturgy
and the sacraments
- Preaching/homiletics
- Catholic prayer
- Praying
with Scripture

STEP will also deliver many of its courses
in a customized fashion for any of its partnered dioceses.
Because the content for our courses is hosted on an electronic
course management system, STEP can easily create a unique
version of any course to meet different educational needs,
e.g. Catechist certification, youth ministry training and
education, etc. The courses can be delivered exclusively
for a specific group within a diocese. For more details
please visit our Partnership
with STEP page.
STEP
now delivers graduate theology courses for the Notre Dame
MA Program in Theology. Because these courses are delivered
in support of another program, information about registration
and enrollment can be found on the Master
of Arts Program in Theology web site or by calling Cheron
Price at (574) 631-7811.
STEP offers lectures on
CD-ROM. The STEP Catholic Video Lecture Series consists
of twelve individual lectures on core theological topics.
These lectures can be purchased individually or as a set.
